Women's Ministry

Women are involved in just about every ministry at Granada Church but we don't have an organized "Women's Ministry" per se. There are many opportunities for women to serve and minister, learn and fellowship. Various women pull together to organize events such as a Mothers' Day Brunch, a Christmas tea or a flower arranging craft time. And if you sneak into the kitchen on Sunday morning you'll get a "taste" of how women minister to the whole congregation in preparing café con leche! Here are a few of the regular things we have going; join us!....

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Women learn God’s Word together in many adult Christian Education classes. The selection includes two classes which are provided just for women. At 11:00am Jan Liebler teaches on the Book of Revelation in the sanctuary classroom.

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST

Treat yourself at the end of the week by joining others for breakfast out at IHOP (US 1 and SW 120 St.). No reservation necessary! This is a casual, get-to-know-you time on Fridays, 8:30-10:00am, September through May.

WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIPS

All women are invited to one of our fellowships on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May. Our morning fellowship meets at 10:15am in the Granada parlor. Join us for coffee, pastries, prayer and a Bible study. Our evening fellowship meets at 6:30pm at the home of Beth Travis. Join us for a light dinner and Bible study.

SHARING CHEFS

This mercy ministry consists of volunteers who are willing to make an occasional meal for someone who may be sick or returning home from the hospital. Fortunately they are not called upon too frequently, but when they are, they enjoy the opportunity to bless someone in this very concrete way. New “chefs” are always welcome to participate, even if they have just one good recipe they like to make. WOMEN'S JAIL MINISTRY

This mercy ministry meets every Wednesday at 8:30 to visit a local correctional facility and share God's Word and prayer with the women there. Advance screening is required for entrance into the facility. Please indicate your interest on the Sunday morning Connecting Card.

WOMEN OF FAITH 2010!

Approximately 30 women from Granada go to this national conference each year in Ft. Lauderdale. It is a great time of fellowship, worship, learning and enrichment. We are blessed with excellent seats in the floor section directly in front of the speakers. The next conference, "Over the Top" will take place Friday, Oct. 29, 10am-3pm and 7:00-9:30pm, and Saturday, Oct. 30, 9am-4pm. The cost is $89 which includes 2 lunches. Although this is a local conference, we also reserve a block of rooms in a nearby hotel for those who wish to stay overnight Friday. See Sandy Carson for more information.
